The Crested Butte Ski Patrol Association, in conjunction with the Eldo Brewery & Venue, will be hosting a fundraiser to support the family of Matt Brown. We are calling it the Mattitude adjustment! Matt brown passed away October 25th after a tragic accident in Moab. Matt was a Ski Patroller, River access advocate, father, husband, friend, and so much more to so many people in our community. Please join us and help raise some money for Matt's family and the casuses Matt loved. All funds raised will be given directly to the Brown family to be disbursed as they wish.

The party starts at 7:00PM, with music by Whiskey Buisness starting at 8:00PM. We will have a raffle for awesome prizes such as a 17/18 CBMR Ski Pass, Romp skis, and numerous gift certificates from local businesses. Need not be present to win. Cash, check, or charge donations will also be accepted. Please make checks payable to the Crested Butte Ski Patrol. If you would like to make a cash donation and can not attend, please get in touch with us and we can make it happen. If you would like to donate a raffle prize please contact Chad Berardo @ 970-989-3629 or Lexy at the Eldo.

Please spread the word.

From france we ll be with you. To say bye and To praye. So really sorry for the loss. We stand by you guys.

Its with a deep sadness I read of this loss.A man who loved life and really enjoyed every moment of new challenges.I feel so honored to have shared a few of those moments with him.Matt was truly special to us all.Til we meet again---

Though I didn't know Matt well, I am so deeply saddened to know of his passing & the great loss to our community. I was always pleased to know that Matt & Julia listened to my radio show on KBUT. Big Iron always for you Matt Brown, you left too soon. Fly in Peace Good Great Man! I didn't need to know you well to feel your spirit. Love you Brother! Sorry for such a great loss.

RIP Matt. Thanks for being such a great friend of my family, experiencing so many great times with us, and being such a rock for my mom and I when we were going through our own loss. You will be greatly missed. Much love.

Matt, thank you for being a great influence in my life. You have been supporting me since I was 12, playing hockey with the boys and teaching me the ins and outs of the river. You were an amazing man and you are greatly missed. Dust, Kerry and family you are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending lots of love.

Heavy heart, indeed. Matt was quite special, so quiet at times, and yet always thoughtfully there, present and aware. Many condolences to his sons, Julia, family, flying, rafting, and patrol tribes. Sending you all much love and strength with such an intense loss. Matt, enjoy flying the heavenly skies, running the endless rivers, and skiing the ethereal waves of continuous pow. "Yes, to dance beneath the diamond skies with one hand waving free." - Bob Dylan

My deepest condolences for your loss. I recall not only recognizing his face during my patrol ski-test last April closing day, but how incredibly sincere, helpful, and friendly he was in answering all my questions and showing interest in me possibly joining the team this season. Again, my sympathy not only for CB patrol loss, but the entire Gunnison Valley.

such an incredible loss. loved working and learning the river from this man. thinking of you Dusty and Keri and all who are devastated by this loss. Our community has lost one of our OG's.

God Bless you & your family Matt you will be missed. You have giving so many family's & friends a happy smile & a wonderful experience visit in Gunnison Colorado rafting down rivers & mountains of Crested Butte RIP my friend.🙏

I wish Matt could have seen how many ski bums and dirt bag raft guides that he influenced in such a positive way! I am thankful for the impact he had in our lives and I hope Dustin and KB know that Cori and I are praying for you as you work through this tragedy. Your friend, Super Dave

Deepest condolences to the Brown family. Matt was one the greats. He always looked out for all of his SRT “kids” and he was someone I deeply respected. I remember his infectious laugh when we would do something stupid and how he would reign us all in when we went too far. I learned much from him during my tenure in Gunni and I was very sorry to hear of his passing.

My heart aches. Matt was a wonderful person. He always was warm and welcoming. I worked with his wife, Julia, at the corner cupboard. He would always come in and bring her things - from Nelly, to lunch to simple kisses. RIP Matt. Thoughts and prayers to the boys, Julia, and his family.

Such a loss to the gunnison valley and all the lives that he touched. I can not even begin to express my condolences to his family. He was such a good man and always lit up the room wherever he went. He will be deeply missed. R.I.P Matt

So incredibly sad to lose someone who was such a great example of what it means to live life to the fullest and who gave so much of himself so that others could do the same. You will be greatly missed. Love to Julia and all your family.

Whether he knew it or not, he taught me more than how to guide my boat down the river, more like down life. He did it right. He will never be forgotten. Greatly missed.

Worked with Matt for years at CBMR. Matt was an all around great person, wonderful dad, loving husband. Wishing friends and family strength and peace at this difficult time.

Holy shit! Matt was a shining soul and will be greatly missed. I will cherish my times with him while he kicked my ass on the cribbage board.

Dearest Matt and Julia, I am thinking of you and sending all my love. It is never a good time to say goodbye. My heart is so sad. May there be goodness on your journey

Such a tragic loss. My deepest condolences to his family. Always the big brother looking out for people. You will be missed dearly.

We will miss you Matt. You were a great soul and a great man. Gunny lost one of its greatest human beings. Sleep well my friend, you will be missed greatly by so many.

I had some awesome summers working up in Taylor Canyon with this guy. Big heart and gentle soul. May you Rest In Peace Matt.

Deeply saddened by the loss of this wonderful man! My thoughts thoughts and prayers are with Julia, his boys, and the rest of his family!

Julia, Dustin, Kerry and all Matt's family: warm yourself in future thoughts with his memories...we all will.

So very sorry to hear this. Matt was such a huge part of what makes the Gunnison Valley so special. He will be missed.

RIP Matt......thank you for your infectious ray of positive light. What a loss for our future but what a gift we had when we had you. Thank you!
